The creation of the ultimate video game concert experience

“Dear Friends: music from FINAL FANTASY” was the first series of concerts of its kind in the USA, featuring most of the most beloved music from the immensely popular videogame series, FINAL FANTASY. Produced by Square Enix Co., Ltd, Dear Friends featured the music of the Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu. Arnie Roth served as both music director and conductor for Dear Friends and the encore concert “More Friends: music from FINAL FANTASY.” He performed in Japan at the invitation of the Square Enix Co., Ltd, the world premiere in Yokohama of “VOICES: music from FINAL FANTASY.” In 2006, he helped create a new concert series of videogame music scores. From 2006 to 2010, Arnie served as the principal conductor and music director of “PLAY! A Video Game Symphony.”



In 2006, Arnie Roth approached Square Enix and Nobuo Uematsu to create a sequel in the Final Fantasy concert series. Together they premiered “Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY“ in December 2007 with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic in Sweden. Distant Worlds features the largest orchestra of any video game concert and is complemented by a large choir. Distant Worlds concerts are currently scheduled around the world. Only the highest quality classically trained musicians should be engaged, with extensive experience performing all genres of symphonic repertoire.
The musicians playing the drumkit, and upright bass must be well acquainted with performing in 'pop' and 'swing' styles, as well as more traditional orchestral scoring.

All soloists are to be approved by AWR Music Productions.
